As a Principal Product Designer for Del’s Product Operations Maturity Assessment (POMA) team, I was pivotal in developing Dell’s inaugural POMA and OGSM tools. POMA served as both a metric system and a strategic compass, guiding teams to precisely align measures with targeted goals and objectives.
The journey began with innovating and pitching the concept to the CIO securing critical funding from executive leadership. We started by defining the problem, creating a prototype, and transforming the MVP into a full-fledged application. This process hinged on gaining executive support and showcasing alignment with Dell’s digital transformation.
Under my guidance, a globally dispersed remote team of Developers and a seasoned Project Manager turned an idea into a groundbreaking application that enhanced IT team alignment with targeted goals and objectives by 70%. This achievement surpassed Dell’s 2019 digital transformation goals within the first year.
The Dell Design System is an evolution of the Dell Design Library. The library components were expanded in version 2 of the Dell Component Library, the Design UI was enhanced, and web accessibility standards were emphasized.
The design system features a core Figma component library to help designers maintain a consistent look and feel. Additionally, it offers production code that can be leveraged with Vanilla JS, React, or Angular, catering to the specific needs of individual development teams.
The Dell Design Library is a versatile UI design framework at Dell. It includes code, playbooks, and tools to assist UX professionals, content creators, developers, and agency partners in swiftly crafting interactive prototypes for user testing, concept work, and site implementation.
The foundational theme, Dell UI Bootstrap, builds upon the Bootstrap framework by integrating custom CSS/LESS overrides, seamlessly blending Dell's styles, fonts, colors, and design elements into a single code package.
Through this framework, we've developed a robust set of fully functional, reusable UI components for effortless integration into Dell prototype layouts. The Design Library prioritizes maintaining Dell's cohesive look and feel, providing designers and UX professionals with a rapid prototyping solution.
The look and feel of Dell.com have continuously evolved over the years, adapting to annual changes and executive requests. During my tenure as Creative Director at Dell, I played a pivotal role in shaping this evolution through projects like Project NextGen, Project Zimplified, Project Magnum, and Project Pangaea. These iterations were informed by insights gathered from previous efforts. The examples provided offer a glimpse into the ongoing evolution of the website's appearance.
I've had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional clients on diverse projects spanning print and interactive design. My background in advertising design, marketing, interactive design, and hands-on programming gives me a distinctive approach to my interactive work. The examples presented here offer a glimpse into the various projects I've been involved in.
